Der Peugeot 607 wird auf der Frankfurter Automobilausstellung 1999 vorgestellt und löst den 605 als Oberklasse-Limousine im Katalog des Herstellers aus Sochaux ab. Kein Bug für den, der ab Mai 2000 auf den Markt kommt. Die Fehler des 605 liegen nun weit zurück und die elegante Limousine schafft es, ihr Publikum zu begeistern. Man findet sie auch bei hohen Beamten, Ministern und sogar in der Garage von Präsident Sarkozy im Jahr 2007. Die Phase 2 wird im Sommer 2005 in Australien mit einem 215 PS starken V6-Motor eingeführt! Sie begleitet den 607 bis zu seiner Einstellung im Jahr 2011.
