First shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 1970, the Citroën SM was produced from 1970 to 1975 and isnow regarded as one of the absolute style icons of automotive history. With a favourable drag coefficient of0.33 - almost unbelievable for those times - the vehicle offered proof that aerodynamically favourable vehicledesign need not necessarily result in uniform design ideas. The SM was fitted with a V6 engine developedby Maserati but did not prove to be a financial success for Citroen and production was swiftly ended afterthe takeover by the PSA-Group. Several very interesting special models based on the Citroën SM have alsobeen produced over the years, such as the Cabriolet Mylord from Chapron, the Presidentielle presentationvehicle and a shooting-brake version, which underlies the small series model of the Schuco ProR18 series.
